Vince Finn
HEY SCOUTS!
I'm Cubmaster Vince. My role is to coordinate the efforts of the pack, plan the scouting year with the help of the pack committee, to be the main point of contact for the pack, and to run the pack meetings every month! I've been in this role since the 2021-22 scouting year. Before that I was the Den Leader for Tiger Den, and I was the Assistant Den Leader the year before that. In my youth I was a scout too, started as a Cub Scout, and progressing through Boy Scouts. Some of the highlights of my time as a scout were my week long hiking adventure at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, and two trips to Florida Sea Base in the Florida Keys. When I'm not doing scout things, I work as a Software Developer creating web applications for healthcare services. Me and my family love taking family camping trips, and going boating up north. I'm also a gamer, and love playing video games with my boys on the Nintendo Switch or XBox.
Dawn Buerkle
Hello Scout Families,
My name is Dawn Buerkle. I have a few roles in the pack including Charter Organization Rep, Committee Chair, and Assistant Den Leader. The Charter Org Rep is the liaison between the pack and our charter organization (we are unique in the fact our pack is chartered directly by the parents of our scouts). The Committee Chair has the important job of rechartering our pack each year so we stay in good standing with the council. I also track and submit our Journey to Excellence scorecard which assesses how healthy our pack is overall. I have been a part of Pack 1640 since my son was a Tiger in 2015 and now he is the Assistant Senior Patrol Leader of his troop. My daughter joined the pack the first year scouting allowed the transition to a family pack (it was also the first year for the new Lion den). Some of the scouting adventures I have participated in are scuba diving at Florida Sea Base, flying and sailing at Mackinaw Rendezvous, staffing National Youth Leadership Training, and completing and staffing Woodbadge (bear patrol). Personally, I have a full-time job as a nurse and in my spare time when I am not "Uber" driving my children to activities, I love to scuba dive, read, and camp.

Jeff Kingsbury
Scout Families,
My name is Jeffrey Kingsbury and I am the Webelo Den Leader for our pack. When I was a youth I was involved in the scouting program, I ended up changing directions in high school and left the scouting program getting involved in drama and Baseball. Looking back I wish I would have kept going in scouts earning my Eagle like my Father and both my grandfathers, and is one of the reasons I got back in the scouting program to assist our scouts through their journey. I got back involved in scouting with Pack 790 in 2005 when our oldest son James started his scouting adventure. We then rejoined Pack 790 a few years later in 2019 when Lathan was a Lion where I took on the role of Den Leader for the Lions and tigers. We transferred to Pack 1640 in 2021 where I have been our den leader since. I enjoy working with the scouts through their adventures and remember all the fun I had in scouting. Outside of the pack I am a training supervisor for United Parcel Service where I am involved in training our new drivers and inside employees. I enjoy being involved in their development making sure they are following the proper methods, rules and regulations to keep themselves and others safe while on the road. When not working I enjoy everything baseball, camping, woodworking and model railroading. Baseball is life in our house and enjoy coaching, having coached both boys teams as they grow. If you see me at a meeting feel free to stop and say hi, I look forward to continuing to work with our pack to make the program fun for our scouts.
Jeremy Buerkle
Hello! My name is Jeremy Buerkle. I am the Webelo 2/AOL Den leader for the pack. I have been involved in scouting in some way or another for the past 10 years, as my son started in Pack 1640 and is now one requirement away from obtaining his Eagle rank in Troop 1382. My daughter Olivia is currently a Webelo 2/AOL within the pack and will be transitioning soon to a Troop to start that journey to Eagle herself.
I have had many positive and lasting memories with Scouting throughout my time between the pack and Troop. One of the most positive roles I currently have is serving as Pinewood Derby Coordinator which is responsible for recording each Scouts cars along with running the races each year.
In my spare time I enjoy listening to music, watching movies, flying drones, and spending time with my family.
Robert Morikawa
Hi, I'm Robert Morikawa. I went through the entire Scouting program growing up on Maui. I earned the Cub Scout Arrow of Light, Scouts BSA Eagle Scout, and Order of the Arrow Vigil honor. I taught merit badges at summer camp, attended the 1989 National Jamboree, and travelled around Hawaii performing Order of the Arrow ceremonies.
I got back into Scouting when my oldest son joined Pack 1640. He is now in Scouts BSA Troop 1382 and my youngest son is in Pack 1640. In Pack 1640 I've served as Cubmaster, Den leader, and Popcorn Kernel (manage the pack's Scout popcorn fundraiser). In Troop 1382, I've served as treasurer and merit badge counselor and am now the Scoutmaster. I've also taken outdoor leader training, Rangemaster training and Wood Badge. In the Sunset District I serve as a Unit Commissioner (be a resource to help other packs) and District Popcorn Kernel (be a resource to help other packs manage their Scout popcorn fundraiser).
I work at the University of Michigan as an operations and maintenance mechanical engineer doing HVAC and plumbing design projects for the North Campus Research Complex. In my free time, I play ice hockey and shuttle my boys to their activities.
Kevin Josey
Hi Scout Families,
I had a bit of exposure to scouting growing up as my brother was in cub scouts for a while in elementary school. I got pulled back into Scouting by my husband and when our oldest son started scouting back in 1st grade. I am no stranger to volunteering, and I support Pack 1640 in the background with communications via the Pack Website and social media, lead a few pack community service activities annually, and support den leaders with running activities.
I am a life member and leader in the Society of Women Engineers, and love being able to encourage kids (especially girls) to take on leadership roles in and outside of STEM.
